Coronavirus Update

COVID-19 - The Measures We're Taking

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the UK continues to evolve, we would like to update you on our position.

The health and safety of the Boston team, our agents, customers, and the wider community is our main priority during these difficult times.

As such, we are constantly monitoring the government’s guidelines and revising work practices accordingly.

Currently we are continuing to support our customers’ businesses, deemed essential by the UK government, with the majority of staff working remotely thanks to our VOIP telephone system and remote/cloud-based IT systems. The members of staff still present in our Rainham based offices and warehouse are strictly adhering to the government’s hygiene recommendations, 2m distancing guidelines, and all travel to work independently by car.

With these measures in place we are able to protect our team whilst also answering calls to our office and responding to emails as usual.

Service & Support

Our service department can be reached as normal by calling 01708 525585 or by sending an email to [email protected].

Thanks to our unique OSS (Online Support Service) built into Boston’s PC operated equipment (roller brake testers, emissions equipment and decelerometers) we’re able to access your equipment over the internet to diagnose and resolve problems remotely.

For any issues that cannot be resolved remotely, we will analyse these on a case by case basis and perform a risk assessment, including asking customers if they are exhibiting any signs of COVID-19, before a decision is made on whether to send an engineer to site. If an engineer is sent to site, social distancing and hygiene measures will be strictly enforced.

Equipment Calibrations

The DVSA has stated that if engineers are not available, MOT Stations can continue testing with equipment that is out of calibration provided that the equipment appears to be functioning correctly.

The equipment should then be calibrated as soon as engineers are available.

While Government guidelines permit, we will endeavour to carry out scheduled calibration visits by request. We will contact customers to check they are open. However, if you do not hear from our service department but would like calibration kept up to date please contact the office or your Boston local agent.

Sales Enquiries

All sales enquiries and requests for quotations are being responded to promptly.

You can reach our technical sales department by calling 01708 525585 or by sending an email to [email protected].

Site assessments have been temporarily suspended until further notice.

Spare Parts, Orders and Stock

We continue to have good levels of stock for all garage equipment and spare parts, and our warehouse is still despatching orders.

Due to a reduction in courier operations please note that we are no longer able to offer next day delivery. At present, most despatches are taking two days to be delivered.

Thank You and Stay Safe

We would like to thank all our customers for their understanding, support, and the essential work they are carrying out during these difficult and unprecedented times.

Please rest assured that we will continue to support you by answering your calls and responding to your enquiries.

As the situation continues to evolve, please keep an eye on our ‘News’ page for further updates.
