Youth trust charity praises Boston

First Step Trust (FST), established to help disadvantaged persons into employment, has now opened their third Garage premises. SGS MoT and Repair Centre is their brand new state-of-the-art premises located in Woolwich, South London.

Chief Executive Ronnie Wilson MBE, commented: “FST has been using Boston’s MOT Testing equipment at our Salford project for a number of years now and found that the quality, durability and reliability is excellent. Having looked around to make sure that we were still getting the best possible deal for our money, Boston represented all round best value for our needs.”

“We have been extremely impressed with the package offered by Boston. Their attention to detail and customer satisfaction made my job easy especially when you consider I am not a trained technician. I cannot thank Ross Tabor and his team highly enough for their support over the two and a half years it took to find funding for this project. Boston gets the ‘thumbs up’ from me and I would gladly recommend them to anyone considering setting up an MOT station.”

FST provides support for people excluded from work because of a mental health condition or other disadvantages to improve their employability. Carolyn Morgan is FST’s first apprentice in the new Woolwich garage and was presented with her first professional mechanic’s toolkit by local MP Nick Raynsford. FST is particularly proud of this achievement as women are underrepresented in this area of employment.

FST is a registered charity established in 1994 and now has Garages in Woolwich, Salford and West Norwood.
